Vacation in Aggieland
I recently had the opportunity to visit College Station, TX. I stayed at TWO of College Stations newest hotels, THE GEORGE and Cavalary Court. I wanted to share my experience and thoughts of both hotels. I also connected with the hotels to put together a giveaway for my followers. Head over to my instagram (@lololester) to enter the contest for a nights stay at either The George or Cavalry Court.
The moment I walked in the lobby, I was greeted by friendly staff and a hotel that had a timeless style with a luxury touch and modern amenities. Cavalry Court has a very 1960’s military feel that fits right in with the core of cadets aspect of Texas A&M University.I walked outside towards my room and was immediately impressed by how charming and clean the pool and fire pit area was. I opened my room door and was instantly in love. The retro fridge and decor paired with the luxury bedding and black/white bathroom was so stylish. After unpacking my bags, I headed down to The Canteen. I sat near the cozy fireplace with a glass of wine and an appetizer called, chorizo fondue. Everyone knows I love cheese, but this was one of my favorite cheese dishes ever. As a full time Realtor and former Miss Texas USA 2018, my schedule is very busy and I am always on the go. When I am traveling it is important for me to have access to my clients. The Canteen and Cavalry Court offered free wifi and I was so thankful to be in a relaxing environment while getting some work done. As the evening went on the Canteen had live entertainment. I found myself ending the night snuggled up by the fire pit in the comfortable yellow chairs, looking up at the stars. This hotel was unlike any place I have ever stayed. I have never felt so relaxed and at “home’’ while on vacation. This is a one-of-a-kind retro boutique hotel in the heart of Aggieland.
Since The George Hotel is right across the street, I decided to stay there Saturday night. This hotel has a slightly different feel. Named for the notable Georges throughout history, “The George” name is strong and represents southern elegance and sophistication. As soon as I entered the hotel, I was impressed by the lobby wall filled with red, white, and blue books in the shape of the Texas flag. I stayed here on a very busy weekend and the staff made sure I felt like a top priority. After checking into my luxury boutique style room I decided to check out century square. When I was a student here this did not exist, so I was blown away. I had such a great time shopping and visiting some of the best retail and entertainment spots all WALKING distance from The George. This hotel is very unique and has an amazing Whiskey Bar. The Texas charm is so sophisticated that I felt like I could be in Vegas or California. Every detail of this hotel is well thought out and very impressive. Next time you are in Bryan or College Station, TX, you have to book your stay here.
